In the News
EVs and Fire Danger
Did you know EVs and salt water don’t mix? Some electric vehicles (EV) were bursting into flames after Hurricane Idalia. (Source: The Weather Channel)
If your folks own a golf cart or you own an electric car, be aware of the extreme fire risk for EVs inundated by salt water. The video also explains the steps you should take if your EV is flooded by salt water.

Translate Reddit Posts
Reddit writes, “Soon, your entire conversation experience on Reddit can be multilingual.” Learn more at TechCrunch’s “Reddit users on mobile can now translate posts into other languages.” They’re starting with eight languages for the posts and are working on translations for comments.
The new language translation capability for Reddit opens doors for broader ministry. Are you using Reddit as a platform for ministry? Are you active on Reddit, but never thought of sharing your faith there? Please contact me or share in the comments.
Devices
Edit Text Messages on iPhone
A new feature with iOS 16 lets you unsend and edit text messages on your iPhone. (Source: CNET) Of course, there’s a time limit.
My Android phone lets me delete a message in my outbox, not in the recipient’s inbox.
Upgrade Your Computer for New Bluetooth LE Audio
Bluetooth LE Audio is here, but not all devices support it. Find out what devices support this new technology at TechRadar’s “This tiny adapter will upgrade your Mac or PC with next-gen Bluetooth for the new era of earbuds.” A dongle can help you bridge the gap between your new earbuds and your laptop. (These are not generally available yet.)
Extend the Life of Your Fitbit
Learn “5 Tips to Extend Fitbit’s Lifespan” from Smart Digi Here.
Fitbit customer reps are very helpful. See their Get Support page. They’ve helped me do a factory reset when I needed it.
Apps
FitOn: Free Fitness App
A friend introduced me to the free app, FitOn. I just started using it. I think it will help me have consistent workouts.
(I researched FitOn before recommending it. Give FitOn a try!)
Link FitOn to devices:
- Apple Watch
- Fitbit
- Garmin
- Samsung Watch
and to apps:
- Apple Health
- Google Fit
- MyFitnessPal
The Pro Version allows you to cast from the app to a larger screen and other features.
