Your Suggestions for e4e in 2023

This post is for all readers.

An Update on Blog Posts

I skip posting on eQuipping for eMinistry (e4e) when I’m busy with family or medical things. Last week was an over-the-top example.

  • I was in bed for 12 hours Monday with sleep + fatigue. (I’m not sure what’s going on.)
  • It was too noisy at home on Tuesday. I ran errands while roofers started installing a new roof.  They also disturbed wasps. We killed nine big ones inside the house.
  • Wednesday, they finished up, BUT they accidentally drove a nail through our coolant line. We were without air conditioning (A/C) for most of the day when it was a heat index of 111 outside. With my heart condition, I cannot handle that. I left again and spent the afternoon Christmas shopping. It was a humid 88 degrees inside our home by dinner time. Our neighbor fixed our A/C and filled it back up with freon. We ate out, and when we came home, the humidity and temperature had steadily dropped to 82 degrees.
  • Thursday, Mike had an important meeting at the office.
  • Friday was my dermatologist appointment. She had done a biopsy to see if my skin problems since March were from heart medication. She says no. I will have a patch test in October to find out what is causing my dermatitis.

The house is in disarray from the roofing, but I’m glad for a new roof and A/C. I was gone a lot, so I’m quite behind.

That was not a typical week. I mention this because “things happen.”

I will blog as consistently as possible. If you ever wonder where my blog posts are, something is going on. I’d appreciate your prayers.

Your suggestions will also help a lot.

I Want to Hear Your Suggestions for e4e in 2023

I’m here to help e4e readers. If I’m not writing about the topics you’re interested in, I’m not helping you! I should discover your needs instead of guessing.

Topics

I looked over your suggestions from my last questionnaire. At the time, you were interested in these topics:

  • MPD (planning, communication, and technology)
  • MailChimp
  • Communication (emails, newsletters, blogging, and writing skills)
  • Productivity and planning
  • Blogs and websites
  • Platform, Engagement, and SEO
  • Social Media

In the questionnaire, I ask if these are still topics you’re interested in and ask for more suggestions.

A Little Explanation

It might help to flesh out the last three points.

The Internet has a lot of help with blogging. I will link you to those sources rather than try to create similar content – for instance, the Beginner’s Guide for WordPress.

I use blogging for evangelism, discipleship, informing, and MPD (for encouragement and communication). I send the entire posts out through MailChimp. Most readers don’t visit my blog sites. Still, I know enough about Social Media and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to bring in new people.

One person commented in the last survey: “I think one thing social media people often overlook is the efficiency aspect, the annual planning aspect, the following-up aspect. As you know, running an effective blog takes a lot of planning and consistent effort.”

I am not that person. AND, if a lot of material is already available from Cru, I’ll send you to these experts:

That said, you know I write many posts on MPD subjects. Because these have a technology emphasis, I don’t overlap with the MPD help available from Cru.

Spreadsheets in General

I use multiple spreadsheets every day. In this 2023 survey, I ask if you want help with spreadsheets. I also thought of a few other topics you can “vote” on.

Reimbursement Help, in Particular

The last time I sent a questionnaire was before Cru adopted P&A.

As I learned about P&A, I started blogging about submitting medical reimbursements. After months, I realized my content was overwhelming. I will be simplifying my ministry and medical spreadsheets for you.

Please go to this Google Drive form to let me know your needs for learning how to use technology for ministry.

Thanks for your suggestions and your time. If it’s helpful to you, this list shows what I know how to do. At the end are topics I do not cover.
