Suggestions for Cru Staff for Upcoming Changes

Suggestions for Cru Staff for Upcoming Changes

Two significant changes are coming for Cru staff that will impact us into 2026. Staff Web will shut down. What we did there will be moved to Workvivo. Additionally, our medical coverage with Blue Cross is set to expire.

This post will help you strategize and prepare for these changes.

First of all, don’t panic. Think of what priorities are for you, your family, and your ministry.

Generally, everything you’re used to doing will change. The changes may be minimal or quite different. It may be better for you to attend to some matters before the updates. You have a workflow and are familiar with the current platforms. Keeping up or catching up should be easier now and may help you adjust next year.

Change #1: Staff Web Moving to Workvivo

Find the timeline for the switch from Staff Web to Workvivo in this announcement.

Staff Web will be read-only from December 1 through January 13. After that, we’ll do our Staff Web functions in Workvivo.

If you want to take care of some things in a way that’s familiar to you, November is your opportunity for that.

Think about what you use the Staff Web for:

Will you need any information from the Staff Web to use for your EOYA appeal?

I still look over the Donation Report. This information will likely only be on MPDX after January 13.

(Right now, through November 15, is open enrollment for medical coverage on the Staff Web.)

Change #2: Switching from Blue Cross

Here’s what I’ve done:

  • I’ve been trying to keep up with insurance claims.
  • I approached ClaimDoc with the names of our favorite medical doctors and labs. Most have agreed to the new coverage.
  • I might make an appointment or two in December. I haven’t decided. I could actually use a break from appointments.

Some of the reasoning about what I’m doing with preparing for the new insurance coverage is:

  • Am I overdue for a specific checkup?
  • If so, December could give me an earlier opportunity.
    • Paperwork-wise, December appointments mean I’m already set up with my doctor and Blue Cross.
    • Usually, in January of a new year, we’ll have to fill out paperwork for our first appointment. Of course, this will all be under a new carrier.
  • I’m undergoing a lot of dental work, so I might make those happen for the next three months and save other things for 2026.

(Again, through November 15,  go to the Staff Web for open enrollment for medical coverage.)

My information is from following posts on Workvivo. I don’t know more than you do about what to expect. I tried to be accurate.

What can you do now to make January less overwhelming?

Pray for the tech teams that they may be able to complete all their updates in a timely and accurate manner. Pray there will be no unforeseen delays.
