Facebook Stats and Your Ministry in 2011

If you use Facebook in any way for ministry, take a look at “Only 4% of Americans Under 50 Not on Facebook” from BizReport. Facebook currently has half a billion users from around the globe.  It’s a viable and significant place for ministry. Is Your Child Drowning in Media Entertainment?

“Jesus is the model for engaging people in conversation while doing real things.” This is a closing quote from an excellent and hopeful article on the effects of our entertainment-saturated culture on our children. Dr. Jeff Myers explains the brain’s function which  is supposed to give us satisfaction from work.  However, a child can become addicted to entertainment, receiving pleasure from accomplishing “nothing,” that is, game rewards.  God intended us to receive pleasure from work and from achieving goals. Smartphone Lite

I found an entry-level phone, the LG Optimus T with Google, available for prepaid customers through the T-Mobile online store. It’s a $100 refurbished phone with Wi-Fi capability and 3G speed. Wi-Fi, which is all I can use without the data plan, actually runs faster than 3G and gives me the option to make calls using Wi-Fi when normal coverage is low.

It’s a very good phone for the money and comes with the latest Android 2.2. It’s affordable with a monthly plan, too, if you aren’t a prepaid customer like me and then you can use it as a tether hot spot as well.

Since T-Mobile is promoting 4G right now, that could explain the low and affordable price for this 3G phone. Continue reading Smartphone Lite

Circle of Moms Blog Contest
