I just learned about Tech Needs Girls, a campaign by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a UN agency for information and communication technologies (ICTs).
According to the UN News Centre, “The ‘Tech Needs Girls’ campaign aims to highlight the potential of technology to transform women’s lives, whether it be through ICT-based career choices or by improved access to services like e-health, e-education, e-commerce, e-banking and a host of new applications and devices that can help girls and women address their day-to-day challenges.”
As a “girl geek,” I’m enthusiastic about helping women use technology to enhance their lives… and also their ministry. If you are a woman, can I add anything here on eQuipping for eMinistry that would help you? I also recommend subscribing here to receive weekly emails of e4e posts and to request notifications of training, news about women and technology, and more.
NOTE: To have a fuller appreciation of women’s issues globally, I highly recommend reading Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide by Pulitzer Prize winners Nicholas D. Kristof and his wife, Sheryl WuDunn.
