Cru Healthcare Financial Calculator (Guest Post)

It’s the month for Cru missionaries to make our annual decisions about Healthcare. Fellow Cru staff, Micah Dettmer, is offering a free financial calculator you can use. You don’t have to “know Excel” to use it. Micah will explain in this guest post.

Cru Healthcare Financial Calculator

I developed this calculator to help my family decide what Cru healthcare plan to choose. I have updated it with this year’s numbers and options and wanted to share it with you all. It isn’t “pretty” but it’s functional. I have created a two-minute instructional video (https://youtu.be/mcgaMhs2smE) that may help get you started (there is no sound).
This calculator is not endorsed or supported by Cru. It is solely my attempt to create a tool that will help. Please reach out to me if you have any questions about this calculator, as this is from me, not Cru. If you have questions about benefits and how they work, please contact the Benefits Team.

Guest Post by Micah Dettmer

Hey Cru family! I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. I attended Texas A&M where I studied industrial distribution and ran long distance on the track & field team. I’m now on staff in Denver, CO at Colorado School of Mines. I married my wife, Stephanie, in 2015. We have a son who is 3.5 and a one-year-old daughter. Some fun facts:

  • I weighed 10.5 pounds when born in my house in Dallas (sorry mom)’
  • I was never part of Cru in college.
  • Excel is my love language.
  • Little Caesar’s is my favorite restaurant.

I hope this calculator is a blessing to you!
