The Workshop

I’m excited to let e4e readers know about a workshop during the Cru17 Connection Weekend by my friend, Steve Raquel, on July 23rd at 2:45 in Clark A103. His workshop, titled, What Would Jesus Snapchat? Will help us know how to use social media effectively to share the Good News.

Jesus built his ministry through sharing stories to help relate the good news to a hungry generation. Today, the stories remain, but the medium has shifted from oral to digital. How as Christians should we look and leverage these platforms to be effective? Should we be using them and why? Come hear Steve and be encouraged and equipped!

About Steve

Steve, founder of Chicago-based Illinois Online Ventures, has more than 15 years of experience in marketing and branding Fortune 100 companies.  He’s been involved with Cru since his years at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Steve has been an active participant and contributor in the social media arena. He’s been featured on CNN and as a regular contributor on bleacherreport.com, writing on the impact of social media in sports.  He has also been a guest lecturer on social media at Northwestern University, Notre Dame and the University of Illinois.

Prior to his role as a social media consultant, Steve gained extensive experience in marketing and promotions for multiple Fortune 500 companies including McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Delta AirLines and Bank of America.

He’s very excited to join us at CSU.
