I was standing outside a Walmart when a guy pulled up in a car. The bumper sticker read, “Born Again Pagan.” Here was part of our brief conversation:
“Excuse me. I just have to ask you about your bumper sticker.”
“Oh yeah. Greatest thing that’s ever happened to me.”
“You mean worshiping the god of wind, fire, rain, etc. Right?”
“Yeah. My brother turned me on to it. It’s changed my life!”
“Well, I don’t know a lot about paganism, but I used to be an atheist. And I studied existential philosophers like Nietzsche, Sartre, etc. And then a friend told me how I could know the God who created the universe. And when I asked Jesus into my life, my search ended.”
“That’s me. I’m searching.”
As with countless others, Marilyn handed him a card with “EveryStudent.com” on it, knowing this website could help him immensely. To Marilyn, witnessing is like meeting a very hungry, homeless person while knowing she has a car full of groceries (that is, the resources of EveryStudent.com). Many people’s questions are answered on this site.
